Hello everyone! My name is Arwen Gioy Arce. My students call me Teacher Gwen and I currently live in the Philippines.

I used to teach English Grammar and speaking subjects to Korean students aged from 8-15 years old in a Korean English Academy in the Philippines. I also taught university and adult students from Basic to Intermediate level and taught them how to make preparations for their IELTS and TOEFL exams. I worked there for 2 years and decided to teach from home. I had worked in a Japanese company afterwards for 3 years. I taught Business English to Japanese professionals and continued to help them as well for exam preparations. I got promoted in the supervisory position however, I wanted to go back to teaching. I transferred to a Chinese company and worked as a Top tutor. I can teach various English courses from Basic to Advanced levels in Speech, Proofreading, Writing, Reading, Business English, and Exam Preparations.

Creating a welcoming space for learning is so important, especially for the youngest learners. If the students feel welcomed, it will be easier for them to have an open mind. I believe that it is one of the key factors in effective learning. Once you build rapport with your students learning will be more meaningful and enjoyable.
